Description
The GDS Corp Protector2 System Controller is designed to provide power for and monitor signals from one or two industry-standard 4-20mA devices, including all GDS Corp gas monitors, sample draw monitors and process monitors.
The Protector2 has two ESD-protected analog inputs that operate over the full range of 4-20mA devices. The calibrated value of each input is shown on the graphical LCD screen along with alarm and status information. The Protector2 includes four dry-contract alarm relays with user-adjustable alarm settings that may be set to either latching or non-latching operation. When latched, the RESET / ESC button can be used to clear the latched alarm.
The Protector2 controller also includes an RS-485 serial MODBUS output that can allow remote PLCs or DCSs to monitor the input channels in real time.
When configured with an external AC power supply, the Protector2 can supply up to 25 watts of external DC power for connected devices.
