Gas Odorant Monitoring

Federal regulations require natural gas distribution companies to maintain optimal levels of mercaptan or THT based odorant in all natural gas piped to homes and businesses. Too little odorant impacts safety; too much can result in expensive service calls for suspected leaks. Traditional periodic measurements using human 'sniffers' are still required, but new products such as the GDS-68XP Odorant Monitor enable distribution companies to automatically sample odorant levels far more often and with significantly improved repeatability.
